The 6th Annual Sunny Dayz Mural Festival was held on Saturday, May 30th in The Lilac District at 406 W Will Rogers Blvd. Sunny Dayz Mural Festival exists to empower, elevate and celebrate female and non-binary artists and muralists through the creation and advocacy of public art. The artists began their work on May 24th and the public was invited to watch daily as 30 new murals were added to the community.

 

I was chosen to be one of the artists for Sunny Dayz Mural Festival, 2026! My collaborator, Ms. Yellow, planned out our mural in advance via video calls and text. Once we started working together, we clicked immediately. I love a good collaboration, and this project delivered on so many levels. The organizers of Sunny Dayz made this festival such a seamless, fun, special experience from the very start. I learned, I laughed, I made some life long friends. This was my first mural completed almost completely in spray paint, which made me very nervous but I eventually felt like I really got the hang of it!
